Caretaker manager Tommy Newton got off to a winning start with a 4 - 2 win at home to struggling Saltwell Social , Saltwell are struggling following a number of players leaving at the end of last season, and Greensisde capitalised on this , Ian Milbourne scored the opener from the penalty spot after tripping himself up in the penalty box he composed himself however to convert from the spot , shortly afterwards Ross Atkinson made it two.
Shortly before half time Saltwell pulled one back from the spot to make it 2-1.

Shock as Manager Quits Two Games into New Season

Andy Taylor has quit as Greenside Manager after their 2-0 defeat away at Blakelaw Social , Andy has quit due to personal reasons ,stating that he could not offer the club his full commitment for the rest of the season due to work commitments , he wished the lads well for the rest of the season and will be missed at the club.
Ex manager and club sponsor Tommy Newton has named himself as the new manager for the forseeable future and is currently looking for an assistant to help with the running of the club.

Greenside's season finally got under way at home against premier league new comers Westbourne Social , on paper it should have been a nice easy gentle start of the season however Greenside made hard work of what should have been an easy win.
The visitors suprisingly took the lead despite Greenside dominating possession.
