For Love Not Money - End of Season Round Up

STRIKER Davie Southern led the celebrations as Gateshead secured promotion to the Blue Square North with a 2-0 UniBond Premier play-off final victory over Buxton. Southern was punching the air in front of a bumber crowd of almost 1,500 at the International Stadium as second half goals from Kris Gate and Paul Brayson saw the Tynesiders promoted - and sparked scenes of jubilation as the players mobbed boss Ian Bogie.

Ian Bogie's side are guaranteed third spot and home advantage in the play-off semi finals as they look to move back up the pyramid.

ORIGINATING from the seaside resort of Whitley Bay, Whitley Lodge Baptist Church FC may have changed its name this season but “the Bears” spirit is still strong for all to see. Formerly Whitley Bay Baptist Church FC, the club is competing for the first time this year under its new name, after the church they are based at gained its own status last Easter.

Burradon & New Fordley turned on the style as they lifted the Synergy Blyth & Wansbeck Sunday League's Alan Davison Cup with a storming 7-1 win over FC Blyth Town Sunday. It was a closer affair in the Eric Anderson Cup final with North Shields Gunner holding their nerve to take the trophy on penalties after they'd drawn 1-1 with Blyth South Beach CC.
